In 2015, this special waste and small volume industrial landfill was established on 17.5 acres of land south of Belfield, ND. In addition to using the most up to date engineering practices, the landfill is constructed with a leachate monitoring system and polyethylene liner which is reinforced by a three-foot protective layer of clay. Special Oilfield Wastes for disposal consist of Exploration and Production Exempt wastes that are created from Oil and Gas processes excluded from the EPA’s Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) Subtitle C definition. Wastes such as drill cuttings, contaminated soils from crude oil/natural gas drill locations, tank farm releases (non TENORM), solidified flowback material (non TENORM), and production water spills before transportation.
