By September, Baranko Brothers, Inc. will have successfully completed the Mountrail County Project, which involves reconstructing a 7-mile stretch of County Route 10. Originally scheduled for completion in October, this accomplishment showcases the efforts of approximately 35 Baranko employees and 10 to 15 leased trucks, all working under the leadership of Project Superintendent Daniel Jurief.
The road reconstruction process began with planning, clearing, and grading the road. Next, geo-grids were installed as the base layer, followed by a layer of gravel. Magnesium Chloride was then applied to stabilize the gravel. The project was completed with a topsoil layer, seeding, and erosion control.
The most challenging part of the project was finding solutions for the extra dirt and determining where to place it. Thankfully, we found waste areas and got in touch with landowners who allowed us to deposit some dirt on their land.

The work that we do matters. Road reconstructions, such as the Mountrail County Project, are essential for making roads safer and more durable. They also help ease traffic and provide a smoother driving experience, benefiting the entire community and everyone who uses the road.
“Everyone, I mean, everyone battled here. At the start of the project, we had quite a bit of rain and everybody just dug their heels in and got after it. We had a really awesome crew here!” Daniel noted.
